For larger gatherings, count 1 litre of mixer per 750ml of spirit as a baseline. Ice — buy more than you think. A bag of ice goes down faster than expected at a Namibian party, especially in summer. Two bags is rarely too many. If you have non-drinkers in the group, factor in dedicated soft drinks on top of the mixers — kids, designated drivers, and pregnant guests still want a drink and forgetting the soft drinks is a classic party error.
